A Day at the Track

Yesterday, I was able to make it out to an SCCA Autocross event in Deland, FL.

If you're not familiar with Autocross (aka Auto-X), it is a small race where a course is setup using pylons (aka traffic cones), and handling and driver skill are stressed over raw speed. Think of it as the opposite of the drag strip.

Click on the photo above for more pictures!

I hadn't been out for... 2 years? Maybe longer? I took out my new Integra "RS-T". Unfortunately, I was put in one of the highest classes, so I couldn't really be competitive. The car is ridiculously fast, but the sport is 90% driver... and I was a bit rusty!

These events are the most fun anyone will ever have in their car. I highly recommend finding one in your area and participating!

Even The Mighty Must Fall

When I bought my house there was, what I thought, a charming red barn in the back yard. I was corrected when the insurance company that provides me with my homeowners' policy came out for an inspection. It turns out it wasn't a barn after all, it was just a liability. A liability that they were not going to insure.

After nearly eighty years of withstanding Florida's toughest weather, including more hurricanes than I could count, the barn met the business end of a chain and a tractor, and on Monday, down it came.

As a point of reference, the man is 5'11 and the building behind (the hangar) is about 20 feet tall.

Now what am I going to do with all that wood?

A Bonfire?

Talk about liability...

Karaoke 4 Cancer Was A Hit

Last Thursday's Karaoke 4 Cancer turned out to be a great night for everyone. With the hard work and dedication of the planning team and everyone's generous contributions we were able to raise over five thousand dollars for the American Cancer Society! Rock on to all of you who got up there and belted a few tunes. The night will sure be a memorable one for MindComet and PayPerPost as it will be hard to forget Rhonda's MC skills and her special assistant’s dance moves. Thanks to everyone who was able to participate in this special event.

Marketing Bowling

The marketing team hit the Altamonte lanes a few weeks ago - needless to say we are not a group of king pins!

For the first time I scored over 100 points - woo hoo! I've included some of the best pictures below.
