Screeching Terradactyl ?!?!?!?

This morning I was sitting at my desk minding my own business, when suddenly I was jolted out of my chair by the most excrutiating noise coming from right behind me!

What could that be? Oh, just our fearless leader standing on a chair flapping his arms and making screeching terradactyl noises !!!

Some might find this type of behavior a little odd? Not at MindComet though,it's just another day in the office...

MindComet Austin - Snow in the ATX

I arrived in Austin last Wednesday and have already seen more tattoos and democrat bumper stickers than in my entire 5 years in Orlando. There is a Whole Foods the size of Rhode Island and a whole lot of Texas pride.

As you can imagine, my name has already made quite an impression in a town that sees 100 degrees on the mercury almost all of July and August.

This is a beautiful part of the country and MindComet Austin's office overlooks the Colorado River and the rolling greenery of the city. You can see the picture of my view with this post.

It is exciting to bring MindComet to this area that is full of progressive thinking and interesting business.

I'm glad to be here.

More later,
Snowflake

Beer or Cheese?

I spent the weekend in a small town in Wisconsin. Believe me when I tell you that the excitement of being dropped in the middle of America's dairyland was about as thrilling as the thought of eating a 5 pound block of salami cheese in one sitting. Little did I know that Chippewa Falls, WI is the home to the Leinenkugel's Brewery or that they gave full tours of the facility. The red light on the Leinie's Lodge was like a beacon drawing me home. Some quick facts about the brewery that amazed me:

- It would take a person 79 years at 4 bottles a day to drink one of the twenty 400 barrel containers in the brewery.
- Leinenkugel's Honey Weis, the company's most popular beer, contains 1-2 drops of honey per bottle, yet 5 gallons of honey are dropped into the 400 barrel container at once during the brewing process.
- The combination of Leinenkugel's Honey Weis and Berry Weis may be the best beer I have ever tasted.

The moral of this story: If crab cakes and football is what Maryland does, then beer and cheese are what Wisconsin does.

Fire in Den Haag

I spent four business days in Den Haag, Netherlands with an international client at their corporate headquarters. After a few great days of meetings and lovely dinners out with co-worker friends I did not think the trip could get much better!

I returned from an amazing dinner Friday night to my hotel looking forward to a relaxing agenda of tourist activities the following day. I was met at the hotel front doors by the manager who quickly proceeded to tell me that the television in my room had spontaneously combusted and burned my room away. In shock, but relieved that I was completely safe, I learned that nearly almost all of my belonging had been destroyed. Thankfully, my jewelry, passport and computer were in the safe and had been spared!

All in all, it was still a worthwhile trip, and I am thankful to the NH Den Haag Hotel for their professionalism and kindness in dealing with the situation. In addition, I want to thank all of the incredible people in the Den Haag client office who came to my side when the going got tough.

The First Ever Body Plow

This month marked the one year anniversary of the cakeplow tradition. To celebrate I decided to do a full on body plow. If you have never jumped chest first into a cake I suggest drive yourself to your local bakery, order the largest sheet cake they make and take the plunge.
