Two things not to do on New Years

So, Ted and Tara were nice enough to invite me to their 80's themed New Year's eve party. I love any costume event, so I was excited to attend. Here's where the issues begin...

1. I figured my fashion sense is a few years behind, so 1988-89 should still be in my closet. I was wrong. So, I had to go shopping for an eighties costume at 6PM on New Years Eve. The mall was closed and Benetton hasn't had a store in Florida in years, so I was stuck with Belle's Outlet and Goodwill. I ended up with a double-breasted, pinstriped suite and thin red tie. Looking more like a gangster and less like a a savings and loan officer (which no one got anyway), I went to the first of two parties planned for the night.

2. DO NOT GO TO NON-COSTUME PARTIES DRESSED UP. People will think you're crazy. Explaining why you're dressed like a gangster is not viral. Everyone has to ask who you're supposed to be and why, individually.

3. DO NOT GOT TO AN EIGHTIES PARTY DRESSED IN 1920's GARB. Again, everyone has to ask who you're supposed to be and why, individually.

Next time, just wear a torn white T-shirt and peg your jeans. Even if they're low-rise, boot-cut. You're better off.

You still looked PIMP!

Although I have to agree, I didn't get what you were going for. Just think, in 2020 when they have a gangster party, you'll be all set!
