Even The Mighty Must Fall
When I bought my house there was, what I thought, a charming red barn in the back yard. I was corrected when the insurance company that provides me with my homeowners' policy came out for an inspection. It turns out it wasn't a barn after all, it was just a liability. A liability that they were not going to insure.
After nearly eighty years of withstanding Florida's toughest weather, including more hurricanes than I could count, the barn met the business end of a chain and a tractor, and on Monday, down it came.

As a point of reference, the man is 5'11 and the building behind (the hangar) is about 20 feet tall.
Now what am I going to do with all that wood?
A Bonfire?
Talk about liability...

So it was able to withstand dozens of hurricanes... but it wasn't safe?!
Gotta love red tape. That's the kind of policy that doesn't let you work in a brand new pristine building, but instead makes it OK to work in an asbestos-filled warehouse while water drips on electrical components.
Anyways, I would cry if I had to rip it down, as it would have made a heck of a garage. All it needed was a lift!
