Brew-haha
The MindComet office has reached a new level. A symbol of success.
Drum Roll Please... Sound the trumpets...
We now have coffee service. Gone are the days of 3:00 PM runs to the convenience store because we drank all of the coffee and haven't made it to the store to replace it. Gone are the days of too weak coffee or too strong coffee. Just one pre-measured strength that is perfect every time. We have moved up to the big time!
Every other week a trained coffee service professional will magically appear, replenishing our supply of hot cocoa, coffee, sugar, creamer, filters and all other coffee accoutrements. Our trained coffee service professional will also deep clean our insulated coffee carafes.
So that's it, right? We just brew it and drink it?
WRONG!
As you probably can imagine, with our symbol of success comes responsibility. Based on our track record with kitchen cleanliness, there are a few policies and procedures the java junkies must follow to be sure our beautiful 2.2 liter carafes stay in good working order.
If you, prior to joining the MindComet team, were raised by wolves and you don't know how to brew coffee, detailed instructions are provided below.

Step 1: Filling
Remove the filter basket from the machine, and place a fresh filter in the empty basket. Open a pre-measured package of coffee and pour the grounds into the filter. Return basket to coffee machine.
Step 2: Prepping
Place a clean empty carafe under the filter basket. It is not necessary to remove the pump to brew coffee. There is actually a funnel to help ensure not a precious drop is wasted.
Step 3: Brewing
Once you make sure the coffee machine is turned on press the Brew Start button.
Now what?
Go back to your desk and get some work done.
The coffee will be ready in a few minutes. Just don't wait too long or the coffee clutch will have emptied the carafe, not left any for you and not brewed another pot (Please peeps, don't do that, it's rude...) This means you have to go back to Step 1.
Step 4: Drinking
So you finally got your cup of coffee? Great! Enjoy it. 'Cause we're not finished yet.
At the end of the day the carafes that have held coffee at any point during the day must be rinsed.
Step 5: Cleaning
Remove the carafe pump, and fill the carafe with warm water. Replace the pump, close the lid, and pump some warm water through to get all remaining coffee residue out of the pump. Open the lid, remove the pump and empty the water out of the carafe. Replace the pump and place the carafe on the table.
I know the last step might confuse all of the "neatniks" that have done such a stellar job of keeping the kitchen clean. While I did say the trained coffee professional would come and deep clean our carafes, it does not let us off the hook for required general maintenance. As hard as it may be, think of it as straightening up.
By keeping the carafes clean, we can be assured of continued fine tasting coffee.

2 Critiques:
I love the smell of fresh brewed java. If I dream about coffee beans and have coffee perfume does that mean I'm addicted???
