How art thou Phaser 7700?
How do I love thee Phaser 7700? Let me count the ways you bring cheer and joy to my everyday life:1. Cardiovascular Exercise: I work approximately 64 steps away from the office printer. I get to make this trek no less than 20 times a day - on a good day. When the printer is cranky, it can be magnified exponentially to the point where I can skip the cardio workout at the gym for a day or two. 1 mile = 5,280 feet. On a good day I'm averaging at least 1/2 a mile round trip and on a bad day we're talking 2-3 miles.
2. DIY Toning: I've never really thought of myself as a 'Do It Yourself' type when it comes to mechanical repairs. I even have my car's oil dipstick checked by the pros. The office printer has enabled me to become a do it yourself office printer repair technician. With the Xerox folks on the phone, the entire front and side panel of the printer disassembled, toner stains on my new suit, and instructions upside down in Japanese... how could I be anything but delightful to my fellow co-workers the remainder of the day?
3. Patience: Let's not forget this zen like personality trait I often gloss over in my daily activity. The printer has taught me to expect the unexpected, drive to Kinko's on a moment's notice, order parts in the middle of the night through CDW, have panic attacks 10 minutes before a big client presentation, yell louder during jams and sip tea delightfully as it processes big jobs.
I checked out the most recent product details on the Xerox Phaser 7700 and found the important notice shown to the right.Stay tuned for more heart thumping printer news...

WORD!!! By the way, how do you pronounce "cyan"?

Mine is 127 steps (one way)! - this is an estimate since I lost count twice and was distracted by an odd squeak in my shoe.

I pronounce it like I pronounce my name... "Ryan" ... 'cept with a "C", yo!

Actually, I suppose even still you could be pronouncing it with a hard "c," like "cayenne" (the pepper)... it should be "sigh-anne."
1:51 PM
you could also pronounce it with a silent "c" and insert a pause so when referring to it you could say, "Are we out of...cricket, cricket...yan ink?

The phaser strikes yet again! This time it's the waste toner cartridge. Of all of the parts blinking for the past week on the phaser that need reordering, of course the waste toner cartridge is not one. So I go about the normal frantic routine and have the part overnighted.
The most enjoyable part of the experience, however, is reaching the part order confirmation. My confirmation appears. I scroll down to the bottom of the page. I read: print this page for your records.
Ahh the irony.
